Depressions Lover
Depression accepted me and has always been there by my side Came to me when I was alone and scared in my life We were basically lovers, wouldn't let each other go Depression told me it loved me when it stared in my eyes Depression had a hold of me for so long, I found comfort in its arms I was able to smile even though it was causing me harm We became friends and I found Joy in my pain Dragged through the mud, but I loved being the Boy in the rain It was the only thing that made me feel like I mattered Even though it beat me down, it held together what was shattered It made me act reckless and appear crazy But I was thankful for the company it gave Me I've been depressions lover, but I'm finally breaking free Took me so long to realize it was breaking me I was beat down and made to believe I couldn't survive without it But here I am, finally trying to live a life without it
