Hey Feller Where You Goin'
Hey Feller Where You Goin' By Roy Merritt Every time he went by that graveyard He would whistle a soothing tune He wanted to get past that place And he wanted to do it soon He didn’t like goin’ by there As he walked about this town He didn’t like goin’ by there Because of them eerie sounds “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” And then he’d look over there At the ominous wrought iron fence And see some ghoul and his friends And they would then commence “Look here pardner we’re here to tell you You ain’t supposed to be walkin’ round After buyin’ the farm you’re suppose To stay ‘neath that ground “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” But you know he’d just keep goin’ On down that lonely street He’d look far away from them Or maybe just stare at his feet That cain’t be true he'd tell himself No it certainly cain’t For what they were inferring He whut nuthin’ but a haint “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” No it couldn’t be true No sir it couldn’t be No sir it couldn’t be true What they been tellin’ me No sir I ain’t no haint No sir I cain’t be no ghost Walkin’ always been my favorite thing The thing I liked doin’ the most “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” So then he pushed on down the street And start into whistlin’ again And get as far away as he could From that ghoul and his ghoulish friends He ignored ‘em every time Every time he went by that way He ignored them every time Ignored what they had to say “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” And so they’d watched him go on As he whistled and walkin’ 'round And scarin’ the holy bejesus Out of everybody in that town Maybe some day we’ll convince him Maybe get it through his head Look here feller you shouldn’t be walkin’ Cos’ boy you done be dead “Hey feller where you goin’ Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin’ Don’t you know you done expired?” "Hey feller where you goin' Some voice might would inquire Hey feller where you goin' Don't you know you done expired?"
