Nuthin' But a Leech Part One
NUTHIN' BUT A LEECH (Part One) By Roy Merritt Wasn’t that what it was about Drainin' that swamp of gators Who march through the halls of Congress Nuthin' more than well dressed waiters They move from office to office Meet in solemn Committee rooms As eager as a newlywed bride To be seduced by her new groom So maybe gators isn’t what we see As they lounge on the Potomac’s beach Perhaps we’d be better served To call 'em nuthin' but a leech And they deliver up their goodies Their legislative delight To enhance the wealth of donors Who’re responsible for our plight And still many of you suckers I’m inclined to understand Have lost the use of your ears Didn’t comprehend the man So maybe gators isn’t what we see As they lounge on the Potomac’s beach Perhaps we’d be better served To call 'em nuthin' but a leech He told us all he was a part of it That when cash was on the line When they wanted his money Not the first one of ‘em had a spine Why he even told us Mitt Romney He could have put down on his knees To do what I can only imagine Satisfies minds so diseased So maybe gators isn’t what we see As they lounge on the Potomac’s beach Perhaps we’d be better served To call 'em nuthin' but a leech And now he’s loading up his cabinet With likewise billionaires Who could give a hoot in hell About your many cares These people think they’re godlike And you’re just peasant class Worthy of only exploitin' For being in such a caste So maybe gators isn’t what we see As they lounge on the Potomac’s beach Perhaps we'd be better served To call 'em nuthin' but a leech
