Virtual Cocaine
Something relevant for the current scenario: Social media addiction. VIRTUAL COCAINE The clock on the wall strikes midnight, I still hold on to my phone very tight, With lights off I still stare at the screen, Not realising that my eyes have lost their sheen. Every morning I get up and forget to pray, I am more interested in knowing how others start their day, Some go jogging and some are dropping their kid, Liking their posts is the only exercise I did! Driving my car constantly looking at my phone I never realise I put my life in a danger zone! Facebook reminds me of my friend s birthday, Only if I would call him up and say, I just type "HBD" and think it s done, Later realising meeting in person would be more fun. The selfie craze has totally swept me away, I feel like clicking the perfect one every single day, I was busy taking pictures to post when I went to "SOLENT" Later regretting that I had actually not lived the moment. I feel it s right to ponder and not too late, Let not the social media decide our fate? It s good to connect and be in touch with everyone, Not forgetting we have a life and that too only one, Let it not trap us in it s addictive domain, Let s try and overcome this virtual cocaine!!
