Breaking Promises
You promised to stay with me, You promised to help me see, I thought you were the lucky one, But look what you have done, You ripped my heart apart, Looking at someone else, You never seemed to pay attention to me, Especially when she was around, I tried to get your attention, But you ignored me, No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get you to see, That life doesn't last forever, Going home late one night, Not caring if you were there, Going into the bathroom, Reaching for the medicine, Hands shaking violently, I'm Crying silently, I put the bottle to my lips, Tilted it up, I felt myself slip away, The ambulance was coming, You were hoping it wasn't to late, Facing the light, I walked towards it, To late... You lost me, You were selfish and never thought, Of how much happiness you brought, To me you were my world, Even if you ignored me, I still felt happy to have you next to me, Just remember I am still with you, Not in physical form, But deep in your heart.
