Resignation
Your silhouette lingers and I can’t forget your voice, the sensation of your touch stings like glass beneath my toes- I have triggers that relinquish the memories given without a choice, but I have always known how the sorrowful story goes. Your abandonment reminded me of days long ago, you surrendered me with such ease as you renounced my care- I lived in your world for so long I can’t remember your steady flow, but I always knew you’d think releasing me was quite fair. Your passivity lapsed into the mourning of lost moments, it was the death of a loved one that brought trouble to my intellect- But you held no compassion and I was left without deserved atonement, your rejection to my heartfelt needs left you without regret. Your meekness inside your soul gave me reasons to grieve, I am a disregarded waiver handed over as the wind sways into the trees- I never thought my broken heart would be the reason you’d leave, I’ll never understand how you ordered such a compliant decree. You renounced me as if I deserved to be tossed into the sea- I am nothing but a submission, your left over silent debris. Resignation Contest Sponsor: Nayda Ivette Negron October 1, 2016
