Not a traditional love song, but a tribute to a l i f e l e s s child, it took Plant ten years to try to make sense of his death- At that time Jimmy Page and John Bonham had been acting wild, while Plant was struggling to take another heartbroken breath. Losing a child brings a s o r r o w no parent should have to bear, but a deep mourning can bring a lyricist to write brilliance- From this tragedy Plant began to heal and graciously shared his tenacity from a time of anguish into buoyant resilience. This complex song was full of yearning with a sense of bittersweet, an i n t e r n a l struggle with loss and deprivation of life’s meaning- A sacred time in the life when a parent should admit defeat, “ALL MY LOVE” was a song written from Plant’s heart that was bleeding.
