Girlfriends Passage
The friendship train Knows not space or time It exists in a bubble Afloat on airy currents Moments flash past  Strong as the steel Forming life's rails Seemingly permanent Then exploding like dynamite  Sparks of laughter Light the night sky and  Leave teary imprints That plummet into the ocean Tears become waves Waves mingle with tears The tinder box of joy Leaves as smoke  Occasionally clouding the past  But never erasing  Memory's  grip The horizon’s hopefulness Touches our cheeks It’s yolk bursting forth Arm in arm We disappear into The calm of undulating valleys Twisted as a pretzel Traveling at outrageous speeds Hair  streaming Whipped not by regret But by the smell and taste Of something wild  Billowing through our garments Brushing our skin with  Promises of immortality  Legs flying behind torso Like Starfires caboose Freedom comes unbidden And gravity is an unknown  Sent from my iPhone
