How Big Is Your Ego
Everyone has an ego, And that is a fact we all know, Cause our parents told us so. Yet there are more details I need to know. Asking my parents was no go. They could not give me an optimum size. Dad would cut my ego down to size. Only for Mum to let it grow to a bigger size. I will start with these questions as I look for new direction and trust in your discretion. Why do we need an ego and how big should it grow. If I make it sit, can I give it a biscuit. Should I keep it inside or outside, Or should I just put it to one side. Can I exchange it if I don't like the fit. Can I take it on a trip if it is joined to my hip. Or is it tethered to a balloon to take me to the moon. Can I take it on a date or should I leave it at the gate. Will it make me hot if I take it to the gym Or should I take it for a swim to make me look cool in the pool I am reluctant to show it to my friends For fear of the message it sends. Will I survive if I take it for a drive Should I encourage it to grow if to an interview I go, With some extra food just in case they want to check it is still healthy, And will make them wealthy. I first noticed the down side of my ego when to school I did go. Thought I was more special than a kid who always hid, Sent him to find an ego to grow, And to bring it to school to show which was quite low. Now appreciate my teacher for not being slow. She caught my ego a good blow. Though it still seems to grow when I put my family on show Or about my accomplishments I do crow And when I lie about my Salary, you wouldn't want to know. How big it can grow. If it starts to weigh me down Will you give me a sign. Your eyes are better than mine. Though I think your ego could do with a bit more glow, Put it out in the sun and have some fun now. Should it grow more than slow, I will let you know.
