Where To Turn
The mourning mist is in my eyes. Another dawn, a grey sunrise. No one near to see my reflection. The pain inside of your rejection. Yes, everyone, another sad one. It's all I know, under this sad sun. No one around to erase the cloud. I'm outside, I'm not allowed. The music stopped so long ago. This silent wretching is all I know. So please don't just say this is sad. Then turn around and just be glad. Between the lines is where I live. Where she says that she can't forgive. I am now nobody's fool. This kind of game, there is no rule. Answers are lost in my heart. Thirty-two years, we've been apart. Absurdity is all they see. But it should be you and me. A poem like this ain't worth the ink. The tear stained page begins to stink. The wretchedness of non existence. Of a love long lost far in the distance.
