So Blessed With Spoken Word
We're blessed with gifts of words that sing a song, their melody through ears flows to the soul. Through reading come the thoughts in silent ways; but spoken words can make the meaning whole. As soft and loud inflections rise and fall the feeling fills the air with language art. The imagery is stronger as words paint descriptions that come deep from poet's heart. The spoken word for poetry brings forth those nuances that may be missed through eyes when reading words placed on a screen or page; the voice is more prepared to aggrandize the feelings and emotions there, instilled in written words that come from soul and heart. The spoken word, our gift, has paved the way for poetry to be a spoken art. Now audio, a medium that we just take for granted in our modern times, will help to put one right inside the scene when poet speaks the metaphors and rhymes. Sandra M.
