Thank You
A thank you To sit alone after day when family have fled, I mull around the misty thoughts in my head. My metal struts coldly resting against the wall, This scaffolding of security to prevent my fall. To feel insecure in one’s self after life’s trials Avoiding the glances and sympathetic smiles. A thought glimmers, once a man, twice a child. But my ills are benign my symptoms mild. A short lived pain within the scheme of things, Recovery time enhanced by what physio brings. How dare I paddle in melancholy or worse try, While others suffer, but for the grace of God go I. Forgotten for awhile by many is my lingering vice, A passing mention or comment would be nice. But strangers are strange and family are blood, They are the ones that make you feel as you should. When recovered and working, back in normal life. It was my family that helped me, a daughter a wife. 27/04/16
