Chaotic Summer
Every summer, like clockwork, they arrived The wildest bunch of three kids alive! My aunt, her bags, and the naughty offspring Oh! the disruption and chaos they'd bring! Wore down our bicycles rough and rash Into every bush and fence, they seemed to crash. Plucked all mangoes from our young tree Laid claim on just about everything for free Sprayed with the hose and just left it be “Wind it up”, dad always ordered me Unbridled greed for candy, cookies and such Called for surveillance on each one of us Running amok after crickets and frogs Unleashed angry yelps from neighbors’ dogs Flaunted, like medals, their cuts and scrapes "Sissy",they yelled,if I asked for band-aids Sometimes, I admit, they were a lot of fun If stay was shorter, I would've grudged none! In June, gladly, we should've said goodbye So our family could've enjoyed a calmer July! Written 05/26/2016
