Diary of a Boogeyman
"10:00 P.M." I creep to a nearby house to ask for food. Three weeks back I met Buddha in a morgue. He told me to detach myself from eating human flesh. So hard I resisted, but managed. Now I'm a vegetarian! "10:24 P.M." Tired of knocking the door, I decide to get into the house. I see a child watching "Creep show" in the TV, seated in an upside-down motion. His clothes look completely wet. I decide to do something good for a change for all humanity. I walk upstairs to look for diapers. "11:00 P.M." A pile of diapers have buried me. They've fallen from the ceiling, as I try to escape. I had really thought hard about changing the diapers, and suspected the child would reveal my identity when he grows up. "11:15 P.M" Still deciding whether to escape or not.... “11:43 P.M” I’m puzzled and amazed. The toddler laughs as I make funny faces. What I know is that many people run away when they see my face. I decided to stay for a while, as the folks enjoy their Halloween. “12:00 MIDNIGHT” “Trick or treat” children say in unison. The door is opened, the toddler is still laughing, and I still want to leave. The children think I’m a resident in bogeyman costumes. They touch my nails and cloak, admiring them. “12:13 A.M.” The children are still admiring my cloak and nails….. “01:17 A.M.” Many people are screaming and shouting around me. I’ve been crowned Mr. Halloween of the year. I can now see the toddler with his parents, as they cheer. I am still hungry……. THE END Date of Publication: 5/24/2016
