Faded Shadows Through the Years
Once, I was laid to rest, alone, By strangers in a land unknown. Gripped by shadows, cold and real, Bound within their silent seal. Chains unseen but tightly spun, Faces fading beneath the sun. Caught within a softened phrase, Truth and trust lost in the haze. Yes... I was fractured, torn apart, By shadows pressing on my heart. Their whispers sought to dim my flame, To steal away my very name. But through the slow and quiet dawn, That shadow faded, drawn withdrawn. Now the air is soft and clear, Now the night holds nothing near. Light creeps gently past the cracks, Healing where the pain attacks. A warmth begins to stir and grow— Far from where he cast his blow. Freed from madness’ tangled chain, I rise renewed beyond the pain. Clothed in strength, yet calm and wise, Anchored deep beneath these skies. The past, a whisper on the breeze, No longer binding or disease. I walk with steady, measured pace, A quiet hope within my space. Devoted to my people’s song, Faithful where my roots belong— For as long as breath I keep, In silent watch, my vow runs deep. Though scars remain, they mark the way, Proof of battles faced each day. And through the trials, I now see The light that sets my spirit free. In shadows once I feared to tread, Now blooms a garden from the dead— A place of peace, both strong and clear, Where courage grows from every tear.
