The First Day of School
The First Day of School By Franklin Price 5/2/2016 I thought the day would never come When I would go to school Was only six, smart as can be Was joining in the pool The first day came, the bus arrived, The sign went out, and stopped The driver opened up the door And on the bus I hopped We chattered and we yammered Riders ,high school down to child Didn't think too much about it But sure we drove the driver wild Seems it took forever Crossed the causeway and lagoon Finally reached the school yard Would go week days until June First through sixth in building two Seven, eight in building three Nine through twelve in building one A twelve year journey it would be But this was just the first day Found my desk within my class Can't remember what I learned that day But the hours quickly passed The final bell rang end of day First day's end for each of us Ran outside to find my ride Rushed quickly to the bus Took at least a day or two To finally reach my home Although it was in Florida Might as well have been in Nome Oh, what an adventure That first day was the best Riding down that country road On the bus with all the rest
