'the Balcony'
The King stares out, beyond the white balcony While he sits in his golden throne Looking over all that he owns and controls; which in the King's power-driven mind includes the stars and galaxy The King peers out, over the white balcony; Hoping the: rustic, simple, plain folk do not discover his fallacy The King gazes out, beyond his white balcony; His power to be never overthrown ..lest a tragedy occurs due to the towns-people catching word that their King is only to serve himself And is not the ruler, that they deserve No one to stare out, beyond the balcony; For the King has been de-throned and literally thrown-over the balcony With he and the power gone; The village people march and parade on With Hopes to find a man worthy enough to fill the empty, golden throne And watch his kingdown flourish with focused, intent eyes Behind the balcony which was once white But consumed with greed and lies Once white, the balcony will now be grey That is, as soon as the paint dries
