Wish Even Then
Wish even then I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to be cremated or buried- or, maybe my corpse will be thrown, into an open field; If you are there, don’t put my poetry with me. If you burn me at the foot of a green hill, I want to fly right then and there to freedom- to the land of peace. At least then – I don’t want to see the bottomless marks of my pain, and the deep canyons of dried tears; My poetry is like legal documents of my scars and of wounds, drafted and signed by myself; I was tied by them, just made amendments each time through life, that’s all. Make me free from all that- burn my body, my heart, my eyes, my neck, my shoulders; And when you would walk back, just think once- that I never, never, wanted to write a single poetry.
