Our Wedding, Who Knew
Our Wedding, Who Knew Time and space brings forth life anew! Who knew, when we first met and I was only fourteen, That our chance meeting; would lead us to this dream. I could never have imagined; years later in seventy-three, That we’d be hosting a wedding, to blend our families. With lives so different, we both walked on different paths; Never spent time together, never knowing the others’ past. It’s now May 9, 1972; again we are sharing the same space, At the wedding, of our best friends, then cocktails Holgate’s! It took some convincing, but with help, from our family and friends, Our chance meetings became more regular, as the courtship begins. With dinner, movies and togetherness, becoming our new normalcy, The year progressed; our affection grew, soon sealed with certainty. Who knew, when we first met and I was only fourteen, That our Wedding day would be blessed on February 24, 1973.
