Spiritual Memories of Mother
She bore me, Nurtured me--- cherished me. Danced with me in the rain. Cried with me when I was hurt. Cooked hot meals on cold wintry nights. Tucked me warm at night. Cared for me in that warm love nest. A warm blanket, a shield against all things bad, So no harm would befall her child. Calmed away the fiery rage of the change, Guided me to goodness In the red sun of my adolescence. Banished the tears as only she can. Her body died, but her soul lives in my heart. Our memories are one, and live in an eternity. Her death is just the beginning of a new era, Our memories will fly to the heavens and the sea. She’ll be there in spirit; her soul will be seen, As the sun rises, and the sky darkens, As each new day comes, her spirit takes my hand, Soothing away the troubles that infest my mind, Feeling her care in the stormy torment of my strife. That warmth, that smile--always in my life.
