What Goes Up Must Come Down
The grass is green and the sky is blue The sun is hot and the rain wets you As the sun rises the day is new This we're told but is it true? Ice is cold and fire is hot Green is for go and red is for stop Down is below and up is on top We're told they're opposites but can they swap? Lightening we can see and thunder we can hear Distance is faraway and close is very near Quickly looking is a glance but any longer is a stare How do we know what to accept and what to fear? How do we know what to choose? Have we told all this just to confuse? Do we have to believe or can we refuse? I have a feeling they're just one persons' views Time goes by when the clock is wound It's not missing when it's been found If you can turn a smile into a frown Then what goes up must come down
