Don'T Forget Me
My eyes are not blue, but I see everything through them as if they are. Mum's garden was my favorite place to play. Dad and I chased Cerulean butterflies as they flitted around us through rows of Cobalt delphinium and Royal Blue forget-me-nots. On swift wings, a Sapphire blue jay swept low, singing a sweet mating song before he flew up and away to a Cornflower colored sky. I kept chasing him out of our juicy Indigo blueberry patch. They were for a pie, but the Periwinkle Blue stains around my mouth gave evidence that I had eaten as many as I put in the pail. I remember my parents faces, always smiling at me. When I was five Mum and Dad went away. My world became shaded in Soulful Blues. Grandmother held me and told me I was going to live with her. All I could see through my tears was the Silvered Blue of her hair. I asked if she would take me to Mum's garden to pick flowers. When Mum woke I wanted her to find Royal Blue forget-me-nots. I left Dad a page of Cerulean butterflies that I colored very carefully. I didn't want them to forget me. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" 2/27/16 Colour Blue Contest Sponsor: The Silent One
