Two Lenses
Two Lenses Contest Sponsor: Sara Kendrick Christmas was sadly over, then New Years Eve started calling, parties at papa Joe's, singing and dancing, the snow was falling Party hats, confetti and balloons, such a dream come true, me sipping on cheap grape juice with my cousin Betty Sue. Running around in circles to old songs from nineteen sixty five, my favorite memory is when my favorite Auntie Ivy would arrive! She'd cut my favorite chocolate cake with gramma's heirloom knife not knowing as an adult that Eve would the worst day of my life. The day started out fine, but I had a feeling that would change, my sister had been depressed and her mood was very strange. I dropped her off at the mall near by trusting she would come home, but since that night my life has changed, I would forever be alone. Calling her...Calling her...I kept calling her...over and over again, at exactly three o'clock, I knew I would never see my best friend. Days flew..weeks...months...oh how much did I cry and grieve, As a child I'd never guessed how much I'd dislike New Years Eve. Date Written: February 26, 2016
