My Dark Valentine
Dark, my heart, that makes chocolate jealous And I so sweet, sugar refuses to melt. Red, my blood, that makes cut roses cuss, And I pierce my skin a welcomed welt. My Valentine lovestruck kissing me like a queen, And I prepare this love affair with tendrils unseen. I take his taste upon my tongue, wear him like cologne, Feed him his own vitriol to make him know he’s owned. Sharp, my eyes, dagger his soul with lies, And I quicken my blade with awesome power. Steel, my lips, with a sawblade disguise, And I stand before him a thorny flower. My Valentine starstruck melting in caustic rain, dripping in my acidic tears and burning in my pain. Spitting out the sarcasm, his words in my mouth vial And all knew I hated him when our words went viral. Torn, my heart, a matchstick from the cover, and struck to ignition against the grain Burned, my fingers, the touch of demon lover, and I know it will always be the same refrain. My Valentine bladestruck doubled over in bed and I'm soaking up the fragments of him in my head. Grinning at the lingering ghost that is tied to the post, This years Valentine is the one that I love the most.
