Light
Light Wherever there is darkness there is also light. Dark, dusty room, open a window: light. Monday morning and black coffee triggers cringe, Hazelnut coffee creamer turns bitter, black espresso light. Bright eyed child, up and about at the cusp of dawn, he whispers to the orange sun that paints his face: “hello, light”. Behind red velvet curtains, she anxiously waits. A debut future star waiting for her intro light. The apartment still dark after the bill was paid Sitting in an obscure unit, angry ‘cause they owe light. There will a time when you feel it’s gone forever; It will come to you in times of woe. Light. You’ll find it, even in the underground Where subway rats bask in that fluorescent low light. Feelings of hopelessness and anger at the world, Pay someone a compliment and bestow light. Aspiring to be the person, at the peak of dusk, to look back on a long life satisfied, because I know light. Even in the vast universe of empty space and trenches Up in the cosmos, far away, stars glow light. Although she is taken by dark navy’s and midnights Megan, search for it when there appears to be no light.
