In the Root of My Heart
What is this in the root of our heart? Anchored like a star in darkest sky A Star that Burns in the hollows in the depths in our very own hearts root! the attributes of my art of my craft Carved, cast, hard, sharp In my root in your root and blooms through the fruits of our heart It pumps pulses shoots through the root Lunges stoops to a truth that you are my youth In the core in the pores that stands knocks at the doors of my heart, in the root That none can breach loose and in the core that none can remove in the deepest part of my soul There firm in the root of my heart We saw joy, we saw purpose, we saw God, Upon the banks by the stream within the seams of a being And found a half, a major piece, a part of you and of me Grafted, fastened, plastered A peaceful path, a raft, a question answered set free Love It was me for you, it was you for me like the branches that bind a tree And like the sheaths that mould an ark Here within the hollows Within our empty hollows within that root the deepest root within the root of our own hearts
