In the Shape of a Smile
I'd stopped my car behind hers As it looked she'd been in a crash you see As I approached her door I saw what was behind her And it wasn't human you see It looked at me in complete fear Fear of what it could see Some weapon was held against her But somehow I knew it only wanted to get free I slowly raised my hands in compassion As I somehow knew it had never seen such you see It got out of her car and with it's eyes it communicated to me so much you see We stood looking at each other The lady then drove her car away It was injured and I could see That it was suffering such pain I offered my hand in friendship I smiled at it and it seemed to gain trust. I offered to ease it's strain Without words we communicated so much. It pointed to a field across the river I somehow knew what it wanted from me I drove to the spot where it needed to be Fading fast now it couldn't manage to climb out from the seat It stared at me again with such meaning That's when I knew how it could get free I got out of my car and started walking I heard a noise behind me you see When all quiet I turned to look The field was empty, no car Just a few scorched trees. I looked up and a small ship Hovered for seconds And then he let me know that he was free Disappearing with a jet stream of white smoke In the shape of a smile you see
