In the Clouds
In The Clouds Bursting at the seams Like bubbles on a thorn, Roses and daffodils Midst grasses and corn A myriad, a mish-mash Of natures sweet powers Shading the meadows And dappling the flowers. I lay there, I dream Of vast open spaces Where warmed I can kiss A million changing faces, Some like bold pansies, Some of shy crocus And your face emerges In the clouds out of focus. Drifting off to sleep Between the fences and trees Fluttering my eyelids To the rhythm of the breeze, And there I dream Of my true love's eyes As she watches me sculpt her Out of shapes in the sky. I fly there, I kiss her But her face melts away Into the rain filled swathes Of dank milky grey, I run to the trees And merge with the crowds Who, like me, are searching For their true love in the clouds.
