Bundle of Joy
Seven years of waiting, and waiting and waiting Sometimes wailing while waiting A stone seated at the rock bottom of her heart Her life burdened and dark with dread The sun rising and falling Seven years of waiting and waiting Seasons… cold, warm, hot changing everyday A stone seated at the bottom of her heart The tiny bump growing everyday The sun rising and falling Seasons… hot warm, cold changing everyday Till like a little giant she resembles. A sharp pain not like the jabs from within the tiny bump growing from within A flood warm flowing down her legs Till like a little giant she resembles A loud scream not of joy of pain A sharp pain not the little jabs from within A tiny scream cutting through the we arm air A flood… warm flowing down her legs. Everyone smiles even she who was screaming A loud scream not of joy but of pain It’s a girl with a fine soprano A tiny scream cutting through the air The long wait forgotten Everyone smiles even she who was screaming As she gently holds the baby to her breast, cooing softly It’s a girl with a fine soprano.
