-my Own-
Assault me, abuse me, do as you please, I'm strong and I'll make it through. Even if I carry the burden upon broken shoulders, Hey, I'm alive, aren't I? Continue the process another few times, I'll become used to it until it changes again. Raise your weapon and throw your best, Your men can't knock me down, not now. I may run and fear strikes, but you know what? Even when the window is shattered and you hold me, Above a street of mundane people and concrete, My life will still be in my teary eyes. As the wind of the night brushes past me, And as my hands bleed from holding onto glass, I'll let go and say one more thing, "I love you, but you'll never own me." As I touch your cold and monotone face once more, I close my eyes as you let go. I may be falling to concrete, but baby, I'm still alive. I may be breaking inside and out, But Baby, I'm still alive. I'll shake my head gently, "I am not owned by anyone." As the cruel and selfishly child lets go, I know we'll meet again. But baby, this time, You won't own me.
