Star Light, Star Bright
So awe-inspiring is the night sky Where a multitude of stars lie. We can only guess how close these suns lay Knowing very well every one of them is so far away. They twinkle through the black of nights Revealed more fully beyond city lights. Do they have an orbit of planets Of gas or more substantial with granites? Are any inhabited by beings At night also far-seeing? Do they wonder, looking at our Sun, If intelligence is there or if there is none? Are they better stewards, than we of the Earth, Of the cradle of their birth? Hopefully, they very much surpass us By not having a world damaged by greed’s lust. I yearn we stop, but fear we continue our foolish ways Soon to bring an end to our days. Proving, after all, we're not so bright Failing to see the light.
