Just One More Day
(Hi Dad) Hi dad, it's so nice to see you? I'm sorry for what you had to go through. That awful disease that you had to endure left you fighting so hard, but there was no cure. When last I saw you, when you last opened your eye, You were weak and fragile and knew you would die, You told me as much when we spoke on that day Your fear I could see but you smiled anyway. We spoke for a while and just at the end I said tomorrow I'd see you again, but as I started to turn away you raised in your bed with something to say Your breathing was weak as you tried hard to speak, but struggle as you did the words wouldn't come and I left that last day emotionally numb. I wanted to talk with you for so very long, but all of my words seemed to always be wrong. If only I could share with you a final last day, I would ask you to tell me what you wanted to say. 12/07/15
