Of Mother's Omega
Because you died you cannot think You got off easily. We have much to resolve; And I will find your spirit Even if it has gone past this universe. Now that I have your attention We can begin. This business Of flitting around my head With faint perfume is not enough, Nor is a vision out of the corner of an eye. Such are sweet-sad alms for madness; I refuse to be mad from titillation; I refuse To close any doors Because of accepted lies About some final consummation. You thought your energy was not allowed Here, even when you looked inside And saw the force that cannot age. Even when you drew its face, You put it in your jewelry box. You thought your energy not sufficient. Even when it outdistanced your eyes; And you spoke of death As if compression in a box Is all that could explode and shake the earth. And---when death made its huge demand, I saw the startled look sealed in your gaze. I knew you had been taken by surprise And not by any lover When the box opened and let you out. So haunt me with release For I have much to learn. Tell of the many mansions in the reach Of that unstoppable fire that burns Through all our sad and pretty locks.
