I tried to be strong for her, like a tough guy. No one can ever prepare you for a blow like that. How do you fight the likes of a vampire bat. As we talked to all the doctors they all agreed. Surgery then chemo and then radiation therapy. Surgery came first and it didn't take long. They sent her right home and said you've got to be strong. Next came chemo and boy let me tell you. Worst thing in the world you could ever go thru. It gets into your blood and eats you alive. It makes you so sick you may not survive. Even though your lying at deaths door. They tell you buckle up, just one more. Last but not least comes radiation therapy. The heat so severe it burns your skin terribly. Leaves you lying wasted and burned. With hopes of survival even more concerned. Now comes the waiting with thoughts and fears. Days and weeks seems like years and years. Little by little, as the months trickle by You begin to relax, think you may not die. Then comes the day you've been waiting for. Your hand shakes so bad can hardly open the door. The doctor says have a seat but you just want to scream. The room starts to spin and its like you're in a dream. The doctor is speaking but you can't seem to hear. Suddenly you get it, you're now in the clear. Relief overcomes you, and you begin to cry. This is the day you learn you're not going to die.
