Songs of Power - Winds of Change
Oh, how we’ve yearned to feel the sun’s warmth on our skin. For more than twenty, mournful years, the light has been a sin. Winter’s stony grip has kept us frozen in its exploitive storm. Breaking loose, we revolt against the prison guards’ cruel wall. Feel the winds of change, seeds of hope scatter far and near. (Oh, how we’ve yearned to feel the sun’s warmth on our skin.) Our eyes open to touch freedom with tears of solidarity as we cling to hands and hearts over our own crumbling fear. Families, neighbors reunite, and our nation celebrates. There’s magic in the air as we destroy our captor’s gates. Oh, how we’ve yearned to feel the sun’s warmth on our skin - in the light of dawn's new star, dreams reach beyond Berlin. Feel the winds of hope blow strong and steady at our backs empowering souls to reach for its triumphant music. Liberated voices lift from shadows as one world wakes to change. Oh, how we’ve yearned to feel the sun’s warmth on our skin! written 11/18/15 for Songs of Power Contest
