Memories
I look at your pictures See your smile And feel your presence anew. Warmth fills my soul  And my heart remembers love.   I read all your cards  Sent so many months ago  During that time of turmoil and confusion. The soothing words written then  Still caress my spirit  And help bring me peace. I remember who you used to be Hear your laughter And wonder what you have become. Where are you now? Where did you go When the body was left behind  And the spirit was released to fly? Do you rise with the morning sun And sing the dawn chorus of the birds? Songs of love and adoration For the Father who now holds you. Do you walk hand in hand With loved ones above And listen for the aching whispers Of hope from those of us below?   I miss your being  But I feel your presence.    Your spirit has become for me  A guardian angel on high  Watching patiently over me.  Your memories fill my need. You are with me And are still my son. I will try not to be afraid.
