Feline Introduction 1-01
No Touching, No Talking To and No Eye Contact PLEASE! The above is the proper way to introduce yourself to the feline species. Do not look at them, just let them look at you. Direct eye contact can be interpreted as a challenge or threat from you. If you do make eye contact just look away as if you're not interested in them. This will make you come off as much less threatening. When their curiosity peaks, they will want to smell you. That's the very first thing they will want to do. Do Not Touch Them At This Time, that would be considered rude. If they want to be touched they will touch you. When they touch you, you may pet them but approach downward with your palm. An open palm just like an open paw can be seen as something that may do them harm. If you make it this far, CONGRATULATIONS. You just made yourself a brand new feline friend. The above is the proper etiquette for a first time feline introduction.
