A Father's Apology To a Son
My heart is heavy and bleeding The countless nights and days I left you standing all alone But I’m your dad- A man When you get older, you’ll understand I compromised your love I compromised your attention I compromised your time Sorry my dear son, daddy just lost his steps But I’m a man- When you get older, you’ll understand I felt your sadness, loneliness and anger But when you saw me, your whole world came back together But I’m your dad- a man When you get older, you’ll understand A man’s decision will always be a man Either for the right or wrong reasons But you are my son and I’m your father Nothing changes that, it stays the same After those incalculable days of disruption in our relationship I fear the worst to come from you And when I wonder on my excuse to give you on my arrival You ran like a top sprinter- Embrace me with the tenderness of your heart and asked- “Papa you bring my candy”? Because you know I’m your dad- A man And when you become a man, you’ll understand Because you will express same to my grandson
