My Date With Charlie
My Date With Charlie (1984) My friend , Sue said, "I don't know what to do, cuz my cousin Charlie's in town, And then I thought of you and kinda thought that you would be a sport and help ole Charlie paint the town." She said, Charlie's really sweet, stands six foot in barefeet, And if you think that's great, he also drives a suped up Chevy '68!" Hangin' up the phone I begin to fret and moan thinkin', Whatever am I gonna' wear... My nails are a mess, I need to iron my best dress, and would you just look here at my hair.. Not knowin' where he was taking me, I had a time decidin' But I grabbed my prettiest dress thinkin', Well it won't be horseback riddin' At 5 o'clock the door bell rang, I opened wide the door, And this Charlie was so gall darn sweet, Gosh my knees quivered, I almost fell down on the floor When he smiled and he began to speak I was thinkin' he had one of the sexiest faces Then my chin dropped so low it could have landed on his boot laces, When I heard him say, "Doll", (That's me) "I'm a taking us to the horseraces!" Dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dat, datta, dat....dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dah dah, Dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dat, datta, dat....dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dah dah Giddy up, Giddy up. Charlie got me seated in a front row seat and at ten minutes to post left me sayin' "Babe, I'm gonna' pick you a winner." But try as he did , he still lost every race and the creep couldn't afford to buy me dinner. If never wanna hear another, "Annnda theeeeir off! " Horses, phoooy! Dappled Grey Wonders, my foot! Dogs folks. Dogs are a man's best friend, folks, dogs! I think I'll scream if I ever hear another bugle play, dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dat, datta, dat....dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dah duh, Dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dat, datta, dat....dut, dut, datta, dat, dat, dah dah and Charlie better be coughing up that $59.84 I paid for dinner! Hope Charlie gets a Charlie horse that nags him all night long ......that'll make him neigh
