They dwell somewhere between sane and insane, on the far fringes of reality. And breaching my defenses, they break free, causing turmoil and havoc in my life. Fear's their accomplice: an effective shield, ensuring their movements are well concealed. And pushing where there's the least resistance, they distort who I am and how I feel. They work to taint my soul with hate and greed: gnawing away at the concept of fair. And connive, to twist the truth out of shape, till whatever feels good: starts to feel right. But when I detect them, they flee inside, where they are temporarily restrained. Since I can not free my inner demons, I must insist that they stay locked away.
