Eternity
I began my life as a little Roman Catholic girl, But after the death of my sister, mother lost faith; And we never, ever went to church anymore, Mother said we did not need the church or God. But I did, I would go to the big church not far, I tiptoed up front to where the candles burned; And I lit some for my sister who was in Nirvana, The good will have a place in Heaven, in Paradise; In the hereafter, the next world, the next life, But if one believes in Heaven, then also Hell. I hold fast the concept of a supreme being, Lord, So, I believe that there is an afterlife in Heaven; I cannot accept anything else, it would destroy me, My beloved have to be waiting in the Firmament. So yes, I am expecting after this realm, Eternity, Once when I was sad, I felt a hand upon me; Once I thought I heard grandma talking, once father. And once my beloved kissed my lips, with his love, There waiting, my babies who never knew the sky; And because of all that, I can endure this life. ______________________ September 6, 2015 Verse For the contest, Where Do You Think You Will Spend Eternity, Sponsor, Laura Leiser Fourth Place
