The Duel
As I walk along the river I can't help but feel a shiver. The wind it is a howling and The beast it is a growling. My time is running short I know the price of my support. Still my blade is sharp but I seek no angels harp. The reason for my chilling is My thoughts about the killing. I know it must be done For my duties I won't shun. With you I place my heart My love for you'll never part. A duel is to the death and The last could be my breath. My blade must be true For I need my life with you. There upon the hill Is the one who I must kill. When next you see my face I pray it is without disgrace. With the sun upon my back I should succeed in my attack. Red droplets in the sun and Now I have all but won. With the beast lying dead His dirges lament I have read. Although I started out as mad In the end I became sad. I know if I'm to live I must learn how to forgive. Be careful what you choose When you win you sometimes lose.
