Choice of Love
She wishes this love would turn cold This care would run away Independence would visit a second time Untangle her from this tango of virtues and vices She wonders where she went wrong Is it this choice of love? Every other day, her heart hurts Every other day, her eyes dew Every other day, her mind goes ablaze Is it this choice of love? Always rosy this life she didn’t envision For even roses bloom and at some point faint Neither did she imagine losing her contented self Is it this choice of love? She tries to make it work- But each try meets a pull; She got entwined with lies and infidelity It seems to a heart that breaks more than it loves In love she grew with the “truth” that hid these facts And as the “truth” deforms, facts surface She wishes she’d fallen in Then she wouldn’t have grown fond of eternity She wouldn’t have given herself wholeheartedly to the vows She wouldn’t try so hard to make it work She would walk out easily, patch her breaking parts apart She wishes she’d fallen in; then she’d fall out But she grew And she just can’t uproot this love and care Easy isn’t abc out the door
