Airborne
Your heart insisted down this road Where you could only retrace broken hearts Hopping along a naive green toad Taking your chances in a three-wheeled cart Make the leap...why not take the step You’ve had your wings since you were born Take the step...from nothing make your stamp Spread across the sky...so high you’re airborne You might lose control and come crashing down That’s okay, we all must rise and fall It’s up to you to get back up and get even Defy gravity...’cos the ground only levels us all Your whole’s stronger than these hurts...they heal Your soul reaches farther than any craft The heart pumps more than just our blood...it’s hell Written so beautifully, life’s unedited script So 2.5 kids later, we’re still together But you're not average, slightly older and aging gracefully Sitting on this porch, our life memories we gather Grateful we ever got to meet unintentionally A fairytale ending we seldom ‘in the end’ ever get But you’d never know if you don’t make the leap You’d fall in love or get pushed even further apart ‘cos from nothing you became airborne...you gave me hope
