Will Surely Destroy Us
I keep telling myself, Love will soon embrace us all everyone, That hatred is only a fire doomed to burn out, Those waterfalls of compassion dousing any doubts, To dream this is the imagination that wakes me, In a night which falls on hopes of good mornings, If I asked you to hold me, would you? This brother that loves you as I should do, To be better than any other only lessens me, Oh the thoughts that have taught wisdom so painfully, Simply to think of it humbles this man so, The beauty of people which have killed the ugliness, Please allow me to climb with you to whatever destiny awaits, My hand reaches out to grasp those that will take it, Anything is possible if we all let it happen, For if we don't it will surely destroy us. © 2015 Robert William Gruhn A.R.R.
