At the Start
When I said I loved you Was it really true? Was I really in love? Everyone I ever loved I still have love for in some way But not for you I feel only pity for you And resentment I gave you a second chance I do that for no one, So, maybe, it was love Or was it just pressure? Your family told me they needed me I made you a better person Kept you off drugs Held you responsible So much weight to bear, To keep you off druids and out of trouble It did no good in the end That second chance was worthless You became exactly what I told you I couldn't be with You just waited til we were married Thinking you had me trapped. It may have been love In the beginning But as you turned into a stranger My love faded and fled It was replaced by anger All I feel is that I don't know you now
