Last Roll Call In Memory of Sgt Greg Moore
In Memory of Sgt. Greg Moore: "Last Roll Call" By Laura Bonneville Delacroix I wanted you to help me climb the tree I wanted you to be proud when you looked at me I don't know what happened Or where you did go Please oh Please Momma say it ain't so What do you mean I don't know what you are saying… It was just today he held me while playing The pain in your eyes I am not too young to see What do you mean when you look at me? My daddy will be here before I go to sleep I know he will, you see our love is so deep But what are you saying I do not understand You keep say to me Daddy's in the Promised Land I don't understand but I know it is wrong All I hear is daddy singing our song These people are crying and saying such things I am sorry, my condolences, what can I bring Why are they all here, what does this all mean? When I get older Moms says I will understand She holds me and hugs me even when she can barely stand Why are you all here? My Dad truly must be near I look to the sky and I see the Great Man I am not too young to know who he is He looks down on me and with a strong gentle hand He says Son I need to borrow your dad as I need a great man One with honor and pride, courageous and tall I know one day you will understand it all Your Dad is a Hero that is for sure Now nestle in your Moms arms and keep her near I sent your Dad down to be a good example He has done a great job it was just his time He will be honored by me and cherished by all This is the End of the Watch and his Last Roll Call
