Your Request Is Under Consideration
Dear friend, how many times now, have I stood up for you? Been a friend when you needed; been a friend that was true When we met, you were still very new to my city you were both struggling for work and were full of self-pity I gave you contacts, introductions and references too, I even gave you a job once; it was the least I could do Once again, now you've come to my well just to drink, to ask my support...well now, friend, let me think... Hmmm..... You dropped me as fast as a hot burning ember, when you heard I was divorcing my matrimonial member In a mad rush to judgement, you ran straight out the door; well, in truth you just slammed it and left ME on the floor You stopped with the Christmas cards, never mind any emails, I just assumed it was my fault for not sharing the details But with all of your self-proclaimed "good Christian morals", shame on YOU for taking sides in other people's quarrels Still, in my heart I hearken back to what I always told you before; "It's my pleasure to help you; that's what true friends are for" So.....who do you want me to address this letter to?
