Warm Campfire Memories
My best friend had a man so sharp he knew just how to roll a tarp. Packed the cars and never blinked. My sweetie caught my eye and winked! Soon we all went down the road to a forest where we could unload. With trees so tall they kissed the sky and spicy scents just wafting by. We pitched our tents and gathered wood then got the fire blazing good. Making s'mores and telling stories of ghosts in all their spooky glories. Guitars and mouth harps came out too while we sang every song we knew. A bottle of wine to warm our souls shared as the fire turned to coals. Then off to sleeping bags we went snuggled warm inside our tent. Next morning back to the city. It's over too soon, what a pity! This camping trip I'll never forget. The peace I felt not replaced yet. Dear friends all those years ago imbedded in my memory so. written 4/18/2015
