It's at this juncture I'd find a quote or state something clever to highlight the historical contrast, but nothing comes to mind. Six million Jews. Normandy. Hiroshima. As horrible as 9/11 was, it wasn't the world's greatest atrocity, so we'll continue counting until the worst thing happens without us ever knowing. War is stripped of all atrocities and we forget how to calculate our own suffering. In the end, dollars will make sense as blood becomes less expensive making fossil fuel inexpensive.
